- Can we send
provisional text
versions?
> We don't have
any problem with sending
us provisional text
versions, although it
causes inevitably extra
work which reflects
itself in a more
expensive translation.
Experience teaches that
it isn't always possible
to deliver final
versions. Nevertheless,
we recommend our clients
to send us the last
possible version in
order to avoid small
mistakes which could
occur when reviewing the
several versions.
- How do you translate
words which can't be
found in a dictionary?
> When
translating technical
texts, it might occur
that a translator isn't
familiar with a certain
word or doesn't find it
in a dictionary. He/she
will then consult
his/her colleagues (e.g.
by using the internet)
in order to find an
appropriate translation.
If his/her colleagues
neither can provide a
suitable translation,
the translator will
contact the client to
gain more information
about the meaning of the
word in question. It
often happens that the
client uses a proper
company jargon which can
put the translator on
his/her way.
Another solution could
be a more general
translation which is
chosen in close
consultation with the
client. The disadvantage
of this solution is the
loss of its true meaning
whereas it's advantage
is that the translation
will be more easily to
understand which reduces
the chance of
misinterpretation.
- What about secret
information?
> Any
information from
documents or texts is
kept secret according to
our secrecy policy.
